Falls Church, VA—Handwritten letters, paracord survival bracelets, lip balm, socks, games, and snacks are among the sundry items that IBA team members will assemble into “care kits” during two volunteer community service events this summer. Intended to bring comfort and boost morale, the care kits will be delivered to active service members, their families at home, veterans, and first responders through a partnership with Operation Gratitude. Founded in 2003, Operation Gratitude is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide tangible ways for American civilians to thank our nation’s heroes.
“IBA employees are increasingly eager for opportunities to engage with and give back to the larger community,” says Julie Olson, IBA’s director of operations. “Our partnership with Operation Gratitude offers a hands-on and meaningful connection with the military personnel we already serve professionally through our consulting work at the Department of Defense and other military agencies.”
IBA will hold two care-kit assembly sessions: one on June 18 at the company’s Skyline office in Falls Church, VA, and another on June 19 at its Fort Detrick office in Frederick, MD. The two events are part of IBA’s ongoing support for warriors. Last December, IBA team members honored injured warriors, caregivers, and family members through a sizable donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.
