Falls Church, VA—As a contractor for the Department of Defense, IBA is committed to supporting active service members and veterans throughout the year. This past November, to honor Warrior Care Month, IBA held a donation drive to benefit the Purple Heart Foundation. Employees filled dozens of bags and boxes with new and gently used goods, which will support the foundation’s programs and services for veterans and their families.
For the holidays, employees participated in another event to assist veterans. IBA volunteered as a “business angel” for Soldiers’ Angels Adopt-a-Family program. Soldiers’ Angels is a nationwide charity that provides aid and comfort to military families, veterans, wounded heroes, and deployed service members through a variety of initiatives. IBA “adopted” a deserving military family in the greater Washington DC metro area, and office teams contributed generously to the cause. With donations of cash and gifts, IBA fulfilled holiday wish lists for the children and bought gift cards for the parents to use toward holiday meals and experiences for the whole family.
“The generosity of the IBA family was astounding and truly heartwarming,” said Mary Dowdall, IBA President. “Amid the hectic, and sometimes stressful, holiday season, our employees willingly donated personal time and money to give back to those less fortunate. They definitely exceeded expectations for a most joyous holiday season!”
