Client's Challenge
CARMA is a global media analysis and research firm that heavily depends on its Information Technology (IT) infrastructure to exchange information and communicate research findings and results to clients and employees. Due to increased growth, CARMA was in a challenging position, because its current IT infrastructure could not handle the increased demands and usage. The question became how could CARMA increase availability to its IT systems and provide around the clock support to its worldwide operations, without incurring the additional expense of hiring full time system administrators.
IBA's Solution
IBA proposed and implemented an offsite managed hosting solution to accommodate future growth and meet CARMA’s IT demands. The solution utilized the Citrix MetaFrame Presentation server and enlisted certified IT specialists from IBA’s core staff to support the development, implementation and maintenance of globally accessible systems. This move would allow CARMA users to access all of their applications via an encrypted remote desktop window or by publishing applications over an encrypted channel to their desktops. Eventually, CARMA arranged for certified IBA professionals to relocate and host its servers in a secure facility and oversee all aspects of its IT infrastructure.
Conclusion
IBA’s solution equipped CARMA users with around-the-clock access to their applications anywhere in the world. In addition, this solution allowed CARMA International to grow their business without spending unnecessary employee time and resources on supporting the IT infrastructure.
Overall this solution not only allows for higher availability, performance, and scalability of CARMA’s systems, it allows CARMA International to focus on their goals as a leading global media analysis firm.
